Despite crisis, Moldovan government hopes for economic growth in 2009

Moldovan Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanii recently said that this year the country would be unable to match its 2008 economic growth level of 7.2 percent because of the world economic and financial crisis.

Despite clear difficulties, Ms. Greceanii said, the government is hopeful about the economy's expansion.The P.M. made the statements during a press conference marking her one year in office, and added that Moldova „can reach the target of economic growth."
