Chisinau, Mai 20 ( INFOTAG ). The other alternative candidate, academician Stanislav Groppa, has polled nothing.

This means that the opposition has got what it had struggled for since last April 6: this voting attempt was null and void, for a candidate needs to win minimum 61 ballots (three-fifths of the forum) to become head of state.

The electoral commission said it would announce the date of a repeated voting within an hour.

Chisinau, Mai 20 ( INFOTAG ). The parliamentary opposition consisting of three factions - of the Liberal Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Moldova Noastra Alliance - have kept their word and are boycotting the presidential election procedure, taking place in Parliament today.

When the procedure start was officially announced, all the 41 deputies stood up and quitted the room. They stated to the press in the lobby this the only legal chance for the nation to cause a new parliamentary election instead of the April 5 poll, which they claim abode in law violations and swindling by the ruling party.

The opposition party leaders stated that citizens of Moldova deserve having a parliament manned with "real deputies, not persons who get there through ballot stuffing".
