20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.
Europe Day in Chisinau with national dishes, tourist offers, music and exhibits
The event is organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova and the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle will take part in the events as a guest of honor.
From 13.00, the embassies of the EU member states will meet people in the 50 tents put up in the Great National Assembly Square. They will present the tourist and business opportunities of their countries, will hold cultural activities and contests and distribute promotional materials. The projects financed by the EU will present their results and describe the benefits enjoyed by the Moldovan people.
The visitors will be also invited to taste European dishes and drinks. A real mobile kitchen will come from Italy. The Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel said earlier there will be a lot of Italian pasta at the event. The visitors will taste German and Belgian beer, Polish, Romanian, Turkish and other kinds of dishes.
Two language schools will teach the visitors key words and phrases in Bulgarian, Czech, German, French, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, English and Turkish.
The EU ambassador and officials of the EU embassies will answer the questions of the public at debates centering on the relations between Moldova and the EU, political and economic aspects. The festivities will be opened by EU and Moldovan officials at 14.00. The celebrations will end with a concert in Chisinau's central square that will begin at 19.30.
