Over three thousand children from Moldova without their parents near

A survey of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows there are over three thousand children without their parents near.

According to the quoted source, last year, of 3101 children without parents, 1147 are placed in residential service institutions and 1954 children live in family-type services.

NBS mentions there are 81 family-type centers working in our country hosting 307 children. Last year, Moldovan citizens adopted 182 children, and foreign citizens - 30 children.

The average unique allowance offered at the birth of the first child was 1400 MDL in 2009, in case the next child is born - 1700 MDL. In case of uninsured persons, the average monthly allowance for the care of children is 150 MDL, and for insured persons - 478,9 MDL. The average allowance for children covers 33% of the minimum subsistence level for children

According to NBS calculation, in one-child families, the level of coverage of current incomes is about 83% in comparison with the necessary ones, and for families with three and more children, this indicator is 31%.
