"The liberalization of the visa regime is a very important step not only because the Moldovan citizens will be able to move freely throughout the European Union, but also because this can help identify a solution to the Transnistrian conflict," Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a meeting with Štefan Füle in Brussels on Wednesday evening.

The Commissioner said that Moldova makes progress in meeting the European standards and deserves benefiting from a liberalized visa regime.

The Premier went to Brussels to take part in the hearing on the sociopolitical situation in Moldova that was held at the European Parliament.
