20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.
Moldova's exports up by 10.4%
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, almost half of exports and 43.6% of imports account on the EU, while 37.6% and 33.9% - on the CIS region.
The main consumer of Moldovan merchandise is still Russia - $123.3 million (+35.4%). Romania ranks the second - $ 85.4 million, even though exports to Romania decreased by 10.4%. Italy ranks the third, with $53 million (+4.5%), and Turkey went up and took the fourth place with a 3.2-time increase to $ 36.8 million, pushing back the former, stable "bronze medalist" Ukraine.
The main exported articles are industrial goods - $129.9 million (+2.8%). They are followed by food items - $101.5 million (-12.2%), tobacco items and alcoholic drinks with $83.8 million, whose export increased by 24.1%.
Russia remains the main importer of goods to Moldova, importing twice more goods this year, $243.2 million. It is followed by Ukraine with imports of $174.1 (+12.9%), and Romania - with $130.8 million (+28.3%).
Mineral resources constitute the main share of imports - $299.9 million, even though it decreased by 6.9%. Cars and transport equipment rank the second, with $244.8 million (+5.8%).
Moldova continues to have a negative trade balance practically with all trade partners, excluding Great Britain, where Moldova exported $6.7 million more than imported, Georgia - with a $5.4 million difference, Kazakhstan - $3.7 million, Iraq - $3.7 million, and Libya - $2.4 million.
