EFES Beer Group intends to expand its presence in Moldova
The Efes Beer Group President highly appreciated the efforts the Government of Moldova makes to deepen economic reforms, encourage private sector activities and particularly the activities run by foreign companies.
Premier Filat said that his Government's entire work lately, in particular the ongoing dialog with the European Union on visa regime liberalization for Moldova citizens, internal reforms in connection with European integration efforts etc., are called to attract more foreign investment in Moldova.
Vlad Filat believes it is very important to create proper conditions for enabling the people of business and foreign partners to render necessary assistance to Moldova in support of the areas that have suffered from the ongoing flood.
The interlocutors discussed possibilities of the Efes Beer Group participation in new projects in Moldova.
Infotag's dossier: The country's largest beer producer, Efes-Vitanta Moldova Brewery completed the year 2009 with a 45 million lei damage. Net sales shrank by 113 million lei, though the company's investment activities brought a moderate profit - 1.7 million lei, but financial activities - over 45 million lei of losses.
Efes Beer Group is one of Europe's leading beer producers, selling its products successfully in Turkey, Russia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and Serbia. One of its integral parts, the Efes-Vitanta Moldova Brewery, is renowned locally for its brands such as Chisinau, Vitanta Premium, Staryi Melnik, Sokol, Efes, and Warsteiner. Efes-Vitanta Moldova Brewery accounts for 70% of the Moldovan beer market.
