Election contender challenges stipulations on debates from campaign covering strategy

The Democratic Party (PD) that was registered as election runner challenges the stipulations concerning electoral debates of the strategy for covering the election campaign., 11 February 2009, 18:40

According to the PD, the strategy says that the debates will be organized only after the term for registering the candidates stipulated in the Election Code expires, but this reduces the time designed for electoral campaigning to practically the last 30 days of the campaign.

"Imposing such restrictions, the Central Election Commission limited the right of the registered election contenders to campaign through electoral debates during the whole election campaign and present their platforms," the PD says.

Therefore, the PD demands that the Commission excludes the given stipulations from the strategy.
