Russia bans win import from Moldova

Russia's Federal Customs Service has introduced a ban on the import of Moldovan wine, champagne, wine-making materials and cognac, Infotag reports, citing a letter to this effect sent to the heads of all Russian customs posts.

Besides the wine products from Moldova, the letter forbids the imports of mineral water and wines from Georgia, and "poultry from United States, in processing of which chloride solutions was used".

Infotag dossier: At the beginning of this week, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc said that on August 11 or 13, a Moldovan delegation will leave for Moscow for negotiations with the Head of RosPotrebNadzor, Gennady Onishenko.
