The personal code of the voter who will take part in the test will be introduced in the computer. The CEC will process all the data. According to the Commission's secretary Iurie Ciocan, this system will help avoid electoral tourism and improve the voting system, Info-Prim Neo reports.

Asked if this system may become the target of cyber attacks, Iurie Ciocan said the CEC faced such challenges in the April and July 2009 and other elections, but coped with them. He stressed that the CEC cooperates with the Information and Security Service in order to ensure the security of electronic data.

By two computers will work in 45 polling places that will be set up in Chisinau's Centru district for the September 5 referendum. Two operators will provide assistance to the voters. In order to secure the electronic register of voters, the CEC will use several servers and electric power sources.
