Basescu: Romania wants Moldova to regain its territorial integrity

Romania's President Traian Basescu, after a meeting with Premier Vlad Filat in Iasi, said Romania wants Moldova to regain its territorial integrity.

According to Agerpres, asked if Romania pursues goals in Transnistria, Traian Basescu said: "Romania wants Moldova to be reunified as no state can be deprived of a part of its territory."

In the meeting held at the Iasi prefect's office, Traian Basescu and Vlad Filat discussed the steps that the Moldovan Government is to take on the path to European integration and the implementation level of the agreements reached by the two states during Traian Basescu's visit to Moldova in January.
