Vlad Filat asks Vladimir Putin to help solve export problem

In the program "Politics Live" on Moldova 1 channel on August 25, the Premier said Russia did not impose an embargo, but a kind of unjustified restrictions, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vlad Filat said a meeting with representatives of companies exporting fruit and vegetables to Russia was to take place in the Government Building this morning. Afterward, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Cosarciuc will make statements for the press.
"Certain quality standards may not be respected, but it is impossible that about 150 companies committed such violations during a day. We should not hurry to say that this is a political move. We must analyze things and then formulate a position," the Premier said. "We will be making effort to resume exports to Russia, but we need Russian authorities' support in this respect."
Filat also said that the export-related problems affected the national economy, but the damage caused is yet to be assessed.
Immediately after Russia imposed a ban on the import of Moldovan wines into Russia, Vlad Filat requested the EU to double the export quota on wine. Asked if he intends to do the same in the case of fruit and vegetables, the Premier said the Government will create an intervention fund of €150 million to support exports. €100 million of this sum will represent a loan from the European Investment Bank, while €50 million - a grant from the European Commission.
Recently, the Russian authorities banned 141 of 177 Moldovan companies from exporting fruit and vegetables to Russia.
