Moldovan flood victims to receive wheat, flour and oil from Romania

Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said the aid will go to flood victims in the districts of Hancesti, Cantemir and Ungheni. The aid will be distributed by a special commission that will draw up the lists of recipients in concert with mayors' offices. Each beneficiary will receive by 38 kg of wheat, 21 kg of flour, and 10 liters of sunflower oil.

The largest number of recipients are from Cotul Morii village - about 2,000. The flood victims said they are glad they will receive aid, but need assistance in solving other problems they face.

This is the second consignment of humanitarian aid provided by the Romanian authorities for Moldovan flood victims. In July, Romania supplied materials for building and repairing houses in the flood-hit areas.
