Visegrad Group will add 1 million to Eastern Partnership

The Visegrad Four countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) will increase the budget of special fund for the support of the Eastern Partnership program projects by 1 million - to 6 million. The respective decision was adopted at the summit of the Visegrad Group last week, where also participated the Prime Minister of Moldova, Vladimir Filat.

According to the Polish media, the Four declared it readiness to support further expansion of the European Union and to create a new program of help for the Eastern Partnership countries, including Moldova. It will be implemented in the field of democratization and transformation, regional cooperation, as well as support of the civil society, and will be financed by the International Visegrad Fund.

Within the meeting, the parts supported priorities of the Polish presidency in EU in the 2nd half-year of 2011, including the holding of the 2nd Eastern Partnership Summit this autumn.

The Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, said that priorities of the Polish presidency is mostly the continuation of the Hungarian one, which can be considered successful, despite ordeals falling to its lot, namely, the crisis in the North Africa.
