About 3.5 thousand new economic agents registered in Moldova in 2011

The number of companies newly registered in Moldova in the 1st half-year of 2011 reached about 3.56 thousand, which are 300 more than in the equivalent period of the last year.

Representative of the State Registration Chamber, Oleg Oleinic, said that "about half of new enterprises were created in the field of commerce and real estate business sector".

"They are followed by industrial processing sector and only 6% are in agriculture", Oleinic said.

He said that for the first time in last years, the least number of enterprises were founded in the field of construction, health and social insurance - 2%.

"Since the beginning of the year, 1.76 thousand enterprises were liquidated (up 228). According to legislation, they can not be struck off the state register both by owners and the National Tax Inspectorate (NTI) if they do not present tax statements within 12 months running", the specialist said.

According to him, about 6.3 thousand enterprises of Moldova were reorganized or merged with other companies over half-year, which are 677 more than in the analogous period of 2010.

Over 159 thousand legal entities are registered in Moldova, of which 66 thousand are individual entrepreneurs, 75 thousand - limited liability companies, over 4.8 thousand - joint stock companies, 4.5 thousand - cooperatives, and about 1.4 thousand - state and municipal enterprises.
