Security cameras may be set up in yards of hospitals and schools
"The Soviet methods when guards protect the medical institutions are outdated and ineffective as we see. The video cameras will help prevent unpleasant cases when the people are attacked in the street or in budget-funded institutions," Dorin Chirtoaca said in Monday's ordinary meeting of City Hall officials.
The mayor instructed the municipal police and the responsible division to submit proposals how to better ensure public order in schools, polyclinics and hospitals.
"We must choose the main arteries where video cameras should be installed next year," he said.
On July 11, a pregnant woman was raped in the yard of the Chisinau Maternity Hospital No. 2. Municipal police chief Silviu Musuc said they have a suspect in this case, but he cannot provide details.
