20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.
Igor Dodon remains in PCRM and will launch several social projects
"I entered the party when many persons were leaving. I came when the party went through a bad patch and will not do like the others. I came with modernization ideas," Igor Dodon told a news conference.
He said that the support offered by his sympathizers and colleagues in the election campaign made him much more responsible. He also said that the PCRM should show maturity and political wisdom because modernization means development, not stagnation. "I'm perseverant and optimistic as I know that modernization is a necessity and most of the supporters of the PCRM want the party to be modernized," stated Igor Dodon.
In another development, the Communist lawmaker said he intends to launch a number of social projects that will point to the seriousness of the intentions contained in his political statements.
"The first project is a foundation that will be called "Solution". It will provide assistance to people in a number of areas as well as free professional legal advice to persons whose rights are violated by the Chisinau City Hall and the municipal enterprises," said Igor Dodon.
He said that the foundation will have mobile teams of technical workers who will answer the people' calls and will do repair works in quarters in Chisinau.
The second project is "I Love Moldova". According to Igor Dodon, the project will be extended to the country's districts. One of the project's activities will be staged before the Independence Day.
The third project presented by Igor Dodon - "The Institute for Modernizing Moldova" - will focus on the working out of strategies and identification of solutions for modernizing Moldova and improving the living standards.
