Journalist Rodica Mahu was kidnapped, say colleagues from Jurnal de Chisinau

Journalist Rodica Mahu, the editor of Jurnal de Chisinau newspaper, was kidnapped while sending information for the publications' website through the phone from behind the Government building.

2009-04-10/13:22/ Chisinau (IPN) According to her colleague Vitalie Hadei, she was abducted at about 11.00 by four men in civvies, who pushed her abusively into a car.

"We went to the place, but could obtain no information. Everything we know is what we heard on the phone while she was being kidnapped. Rodica Mahu's mobile phone is now inaccessible," Vitalie Hadei has told Info-Prim Neo.

Contacted by the publication's director Val Butnaru, officials of the Ministry of the Interior said they know nothing about this case and cannot provide any information.

Rodica Mahu was released after 2 hours.
