2009-05-09/14:48/ Chisinau (IPN) Nistor Grozavu, the Chisinau deputy mayor, stated at inaugurating Europe's Day in Chisinau that "we are Europeans and we must behave respectively." Grozavu invited those present at the holiday to participate actively in the action "Free microphone." "Anyone has the right to opinion, we shall listen to everyone, without stopping someone," the deputy mayor stated.
Besides, photo exhibitions, debates with the participation of some media were also organized in the Public Garden.
"We came to present the activities unfolded by the Independent Journalism Center to get closer to the EU. We should not expect that the EU gets c loser to us, but we should make these steps to prepare every citizen to integrate into the EU," said Vitalie Dogaru, a coordinator with the Journalism Independent Center.
Attending the events organized by the Chisinau city hall Cezare de Montis, the head of the delegation of the European Commission to Moldova, has said "although two events are concomitantly celebrated in the country, I celebrate the Europe Day." "After the April events, the European Union must get involved more in Moldova," the European official opined.
The Europe Days in Chisinau are organized by the city hall from May 8 to 10, through a huge program of cultural events.
