Concert with Zdob and Zdub on Europe's Day

A fair of European projects, followed by a concert with Moldovan stars will be organized in the National Opera Square on May 10, on the occasion of Europe's Day, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a release of the Delegation of the European Commission to Moldova.

2009-05-09/12:36/ Chisinau (IPN) The event will start at 15.00 with a fair about over 30 projects the European Commission implements in Moldova.

"We want the Moldovan citizens to get more familiar with the delegation of the European Commission," said Cesare De Montis, the head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Moldova. "We want to show that we are here, what we do and the way in which the Moldovan population benefits from our work. On Europe's Day, we mark the results we have got jointly with Moldova, throught he concrete projects funded by the European Union," the Ambassador stated.

The key moment of the event prepared by the Delegation will be a conce rt featuring the most popular Moldovan singers: Snails, Natalia Barbu, Geta Burlacu and - Zdob si Zdub. The latter ones will launch a video clip on Europe's Day, called "Koa Hiatamadl," a German folk song, produced with the Austrian musician Hubert Von Goisern. The concert will begin at 18.00.

Europe's Day was celebrated for the first time in Moldova in 2006. This day is marked on May 9 in the member states of the European Union to commemorate Robert Schuman's statement, who urged France, Germany and other European states to make a common Europe. The Europe Day has become a symbol of the European Union underlining the political unity together with EU flag, anthem, and the single currency.
