20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.

2009-06-22/16:19/ Chisinau (IPN)  To vote elsewhere, including at the permanent address, the students must file an application, until June 26 inclusive, at the local administration body of the community where they want to vote, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.

“The application shall be filed by the applicant in person together with the presentation of the identity document and the residence certificate, in original and a copy”, the communique says.

After filing the application, student voters will be included in the basic roll of the voting station where they want to vote. If the provisional residence in the dormitory expires until election day, they will vote at the permanent address.

If the students fail to declare their new res idence, they may apply at the electoral bureau of the voting station corresponding to their present address for a certificate which will enable them to vote at any other station. This procedure will be available in the period from July 14 to 28.

This certificate will procure its holder a place in the additional voter list and will be annexed to the list once its holder has voted.

The applications submitted for participation in the April 5 polls are not valid any longer since they are one-use only.
