Grain terminal inaugurated in the Giurgiulesti International Free Port
On July 24, 2009, grain terminal was inaugurated in the Giurgiulesti International Free Port. The terminal was built by The "Trans Cargo Terminal" company in cooperation with the ICS "Danube Logistics" SRL, the general investor in the port - Danube Logistics.

Chisinau, July 24 ( INFOTAG ). At the inauguration ceremony Terminal Director Vaja Dgiashi said that the capacity of the terminal allows receiving up to 3000 tons per day of grain by means of railway and loading sea vessels with a capacity of up to 7000 tons, with a loading speed of 300 tons per hour.
"The up-to-date laboratory of the terminal is equipped with instrumentation, produced by Swiss companies and it enables making the precise assessment of the quality parameters of the stored products", the Director remarked. This is the third object of the port after the oil terminal and the passenger port. The total investments volume in the project amounts to 17 million US Dollars, including in grain storage, grain loading facilities and laboratory, Danube Logistics constructed berth for sea/river vessels, rail, road and engineering communication services and a 110 kW electric power substation to support the project.
The Terminal Director said that the first sea vessel, loaded with Moldovan grain will depart from the port on August 15. The first sea terminal export capacity is up to 500 thousand tons a day. It can receive for storage and further transportation up to 200 thousand tons of grain from abroad.
Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, who participated in the inauguration of the terminal underlined that it will allow Moldova to avoid extra import and export expenses, as the sea transportation is much cheaper than other transportation types.
The project for the construction of the Giurgiulesti sea port is implemented by the Easeur Holding BV. The investment program of its daughter companies- Danube Logistics, Bemol Retail, Bemol Refinery and Bemol Trading in Moldova includes the construction of the oil terminal, passenger and freight port, Moldova's first plant for producing bio-ethanol and 50 filling stations. The project was launched in 2005. The total investments volume in the project is valued at US$250-270 million. The spread of the port constitutes 700 meters, which fact allows processing yearly up to 1 million tons of cargoes and implementing international sea and river passenger shipping operations.
