20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.

785 candidates for 101 parliamentary seats
According to the data by the Central Election Commission (CEC) there are 785 candidates for 101 parliamentary seats.

Chisinau, July 27 ( INFOTAG ). Thus, women constitute 28.9% of the total number of the parliamentary candidates, whereas in accordance with the European standards the admissible minimum accounts for 30%.
The average age of the candidates is 43 years. The majority of the candidates are younger that 30 years, there are 48 such people among the CDPP candidates and only 12 - in the Communist Party. The majority of candidates over 60 years old are members of the Communist Party - 14, there are only two of such members among the LP candidates.
There are 73 independent candidates. The majority of them are included into the SDPM voting list - 49, the voting lists of such parties as the Democratic Party of Moldova, the LP and Alianta Verde ecological party include only the members of these parties. The voting list of the Communist Party includes 19 non-party candidates, the LDPM - 3, the CDPP and the PRP - one each.
The Communist Party voting list includes 21 teachers, 20 economists, 19 engineers, 16 lawyers, 8 agronomists, 6 doctors; that of the Christian Democratic Popular Party - 22 teachers, 16 engineers and lawyers, 11 economists, 6 doctors, 2 agronomists; the MNA - 24 teachers, 18 engineers, 14 economists, 11 lawyers and 11 doctors, 8 agronomists; the Liberal Party of Moldova - 29 teachers, 22 lawyers, 18 economists, 11 engineers, 9 doctors, 3 agronomists; the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova - 27 teachers, 17 economists, 14 lawyers, 12 engineers, 10 agronomists, 8 doctors; the Democratic Party of Moldova - 25 teachers, 17 engineers, 16 economists, 12 lawyers, 9 political experts, 6 agronomists, 4 doctors; the SDPM - 24 economists, 19 teachers and 19 engineers, 18 lawyers, 6 doctors, 5 agronomists; the ecological party - 11 economists, 10 teachers, 9 engineers, 6 lawyers, 5 doctors, 4 agronomists.
