Chisinau, July 29 ( INFOTAG ). Your Infotag correspondent was told by a Central Election Commission member that as on 3pm local time, the turnout "has exceeded the necessary one-third of voters". By law, the voter turnout must be minimum 33% plus one ballot for an election to be declared as valid.
Seats in the 101-member Parliament of Moldova are being contested by 8 political parties. Recent opinion polls showed that not more than 4-5 of them had chances to become parliamentary parties.
Traditionally, the Central Election Commission will announce its earliest preliminary election results soon after this upcoming midnight, when over two-thirds of ballots will have been processed. And Infotag will report the data on Thursday morning.
