Supreme Security Council has new composition
Mihai Ghimpu, as Caretaker President of Moldova, will head of the Council. Its members include Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the first deputy parliamentary Speaker Serafim Urecheanu, MP Marian Lupu, Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, Minister of Internal Affairs Victor Catan, Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, the director of the Security and Information Service (SIS) Gheorghe Mihai and Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko.
The Supreme Security Council will hold the first meeting in its new composition on Monday, October 26.The Council is a consultative body under the President of Moldova that analyzes the work of the ministries and departments aimed at ensuring national security.
Earlier, the Council consisted of the former head of state Vladimir Voronin and the representatives of the Greceanyi Government II - Premier Zinaida Greceanyi, the SIS director Artur Reshetnikov, Prosecutor General Valeriu Gurbulea, Minister of Defense Vitalie Vrabie, the National Bank governor Leonid Talmaci, the head of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime Sergiu Puscuta and Minister of Internal Affairs Gheorghe Papuc.
