Republic of Moldova is included in the category of countries with problematic democracy, according to the Democracy Index of „The Economist" for the year 2008 (EIU Democracy Index), DECA-press communicates.

Republic of Moldova is included in the category of countries with problematic democracy, according to the Democracy Index of „The Economist" for the year 2008 (EIU Democracy Index), DECA-press communicates.

„The Economist" places Republic of Moldova on the 62nd place of 167 countries of the world, according to the level of advancement of democracy.
<p>
Moldova's results haven\t changed in comparison with the indicators recorded last year.
<p>
The problems of democracy in Moldova focus on the activity of the government (4.29 of 10 points), political culture and political engagement of the population.
<p>
Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are the only democratic states from CIS countries. Despite that, Moldova's score is low enough in comparison with other countries from Europe.
