20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.
Deadline for fielding candidates for presidency is December 3
The commission informs that the candidates can be fielded on November 28, 29, 30 and on December 1 and 2, from 8.00 until 17.00; on December 3, from 8.00 until 24.00, to the address: Chisinau municipality, 162 Stephan the Great Blvd., office 1005.
The commission reminds that the candidates must be older than 40, have lived in Moldova for at least 10 years on a permanent basis and know the official language.
Under the legislation, the candidate for the post of head of state must be supported by at lest 15 MPs.
