Moldova Azi, 24 December 2009, 11:30

A press release on the website of the EU Delegation in Belarus says the project called "Waste Governance - ENPI East" aims to support Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine in their efforts to reduce the risks arising from inappropriate management of wastes.

The project funded by the EU with a budget of €5.9 million will address the problem of waste through co-operation with, and amongst, partner states in the region. It will help improve the management of waste by promoting higher standards at waste facilities, more effective waste prevention initiatives, increased capacities for waste collection and sorting as well as increasing re-use, recovery, and safe disposal of waste.
