20 parties have registered in the current election campaign. Many people say it is a too big number for such a small country as Moldova. At the same time, much more parties could take part in the election campaign.

Chisinau, January 14 ( INFOTAG ). Over 150 representatives of the Moldovan Jewish community gathered around the monument to the Holocaust victims in downtown Chisinau to express their support for Israel's military actions in Gaza Strip.

They unfolded slogans reading "Let Israel defeat terror!", "I love Israel!", "Israel kin, our hearts are with you!', and the like.

Community chairman Roman Aronov told your Infotag correspondent that the people had gathered near that very special monument to express their solidarity with Israel and support its military operation that began last December 28 to liquidate armed structures of the Hamas Islamic movement.

Aronov said, "This has been Israel's response to the bombing of its territory that would not end for 8 long years. Israel is acting proceeding from the need to save and defend its citizens. It uses its right to self-defense and to territorial inviolability. Therefore, the ongoing military operation is a just action aimed at self-defense. This is the only method to put an end to annihilation of Israeli civilians. We believe in the Government and armed forces of Israel, which will achieve the set task, and the Israeli people will eventually come to live in peace and calm".

The meeting participants adopted a declaration of solidarity with Israel, which will be sent to the Government of that country.
