The first two presidents of the Republic of Moldova, decorated by the Metropolitan Vladimir
On Sunday, the Metropolitan of Chisinau and whole Moldova, His Holiness Vladimir, decorated the first two presidents of the Republic of Moldova - Mircea Snegur and Petru Lucinschi - with the first-degree Order „Binecredinciosul Voievod Stefan cel Mare si Sfant". This is the supreme distinction of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, DECA-press informs.
According to His Holiness Vladimir, „the first two presidents were decorated for their great contribution to the development and promotion of the Moldovan Orthodox Church".
The two ex-presidents said on this occasion they would keep faithful to the Mother-Church.
Last month, Mircea Snegur and Petru Lucinschi, both from Floresti district, celebrated their 70 th anniversary.
