Ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Penal Court: an imperative issue on Moldova's European Integration Agenda
To investigate the most heinous crimes of the twentieth century - genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, the international community has set up ad hoc tribunals such as the International Military Tribunals at Nuremberg and Tokyo, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia. However, genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes remain a grim reality of the world today.
The "concrete" Alliance... with and without any disputes
These statements were made by the four leaders of the Governing alliance during a TV program.
„The speculations according to which there are some misunderstandings within the AEI are just invented by the communist opposition, the liberal Mihai Ghimpu believes. „Given the fact PCRM is to split, they try to persuade their members not to live, as they think they will come to power again. We are strong and we will always be", Ghimpu stated.
The leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, former candidate of AEI for president, did not even reject or confirm the latest discussions about the misunderstandings among the four leaders. He appreciated the atmosphere within AEI "as not ideal and not dramatic".
„We are not perfect, we have our drawbacks, we have different points of view, contradictions", Prime Minister Vlad Filat, leader of PLDM, stated. He also said the AEI activity is regularly pressed and sabotaged by "the eight-year-old system built by the Communist party".
The four leaders concluded no matter the inside contradictions, the final actions are strong and are carried out following the citizens' interests.
