The announcement was made by Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase in Geneva, where the United Nations Council is holding its 13th session, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Justice.

In a meeting with the director of the UNHCR Bureau for Europe Judith Kumin, the Moldovan minister welcomed the decision to implement the EU-funded Regional Protection Support Project in Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine.

Alexandru Tanase said the Government is considering the possibility of ratifying the UN Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons as soon as possible. The national institutions are now examining all the economic, financial and social aspects of the required documents.

At the end of the meeting, Alexandru Tanase invited Judith Kumin to pay a working visit to Moldova to discuss the cooperation prospects.
