Minimum guaranteed salary raised

The Government increased the minimum guaranteed monthly salary in economy from 900 lei to 1,100 lei or 6.51 lei/hour. It is calculated for a full working program - 169 hours on average a month, regardless of the pattern of ownership and legal organizational form of the companies.

The decision was made as a result of talks with employers and trade unions. As many companies went through a period or crisis, they will be allowed to raise the minimum guaranteed salary gradually, by May 1.

The minimum guaranteed monthly pay in agriculture and forestry remained 990 lei or 5.86 lei/hour. The minimum salary for auxiliary workers in these sectors is 600 lei or 3.55 lei/hour.
