Parliamentary majority intimidates the judiciary, Voronin says in a letter to Europeans
Vladimir Voronin says Ion Muruianu's case should be examined seriously, but in fact they pursue group interests and aim to intimidate the representatives of the supreme court in the country for artificial and vindictive reasons.
"We witness actions aimed at discrediting the judicial power," Voronin says in the letter.
Ion Muruianu was invited to the last sitting of the Parliament to provide explanations over the cases in which Moldova was found guilty by the ECHR. The agenda of the same sitting included the dismissal of the president of the Supreme Court of Justice. As the quorum was not present, the proposal was not put to the vote.
