Peoples' Association set up in Moldova
The president of the newly formed association is Olga Goncearova, the former direcot of the Agency for Inter-ethnic Relations. "The Association of Peoples of Moldova is an organization established by persons of different nationalities, of different political visions and that live on both sides of the Nistru", Olga Goncearova told a news conference on Wednesday.
"We look at the present and future of our country from the perspective of the past. We advocate active cooperation with the CIS countries for the promotion of European integration", said Gocearova.
The organization is open to all the ethnic groups in the country and has the following goals: "to promote cultural and linguistic values and traditions; educate tolerance and strengthen civil society; cooperate with the Moldovan diaspora to promote Moldova's image abroad".
