Former general prosecutor, Valeriu Gurbulea, put to trial
Chifa accuses Gurbulea of damage of honor, dignity and professional reputation and asks for moral damage of 200 thousand MDL.
Valeriu Gurbulea stated, quoted by jurnal.md, he did not think he had damaged Svetlana Chifa's honor and professional dignity. „I do not remember very well what I have said. I just remember I spoke about the violation o some legal procedures of adoption. The Supreme Security Council already took a decision about this case", he said. He noted he would offer more details about the trial.
DECA-press Agency reminds in 2009, Svetlana Chifa was arrested and put under criminal investigation in three cases - abuse of procedure of adoptions, abuse of power, excess of power and influence peddling.
The former prosecutor stated at that moment Svetlana Chifa had organized the illegal adoption of a child and a criminal schema in this area.
Chifa stated she was innocent. She said the dossier opened on her name was a political order of the communist governing system.
