Chisinau, Mai 21 ( INFOTAG ). LDPM Chairman Vlad Filat told a news conference today the first condition is that negotiations between the MCP and opposition must be held in the presence of Western representatives, and the second condition is that the Communists must agree to holding a new parliamentary election.

"I admit the MCP made some attempts to start a dialog. But after them there followed actions that showed that discussions are pointless. We were blackmailed and threatened. But let's speak about it after May 28, when the Communists make a second attempt to elect president. Even if the MCP offered the post of Prime Minister to the opposition, this would not be a solution to the problem because country governance has to be considered in a combination [of all key posts]", Filat said.

He announced the Liberal Democratic faction shall not take part in the May 28 voting, and offered an opinion that a new parliamentary election would not undermine national economy development.

"I presume we should appoint a competent prime minister and provide him or her with a good team of ministers, who would start working for the nation, instead of rendering services to election campaign", said the LDPM leader.

Vlad Filat demanded from Speaker Vladimir Voronin to resign as President of Moldova because, by law, a person may not belong simultaneously to legislative power and to executive power branch, and because a lawmaker has no right to hold any other position, except scientific researches and some teaching.

"We will shortly apply to the Constitutional Court, which will hopefully be independent in taking a decision", said Vlad Filat.
