2009-07-14/15:58/ Chisinau (IPN) The Supreme Court of Justice Tuesday decided that the Prosecutor General Valeriu Gurbulea and Deputy Minister of the Interior Valentin Zubic did not have enough reasons to accuse the leader of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Serafim Urecheanu and the AMN member Ion Plesca of involvement in the assassination attempt on the leader of the Christian Democratic People’s Party Iurie Rosca. The Court upheld the decision of the previous court and rejected the prosecutor’s application in this case.

Vasile Rahlea, lawyer for Urecheanu and Plesca, has told Info-Prim Neo that the Rascani Court’s decision to declare the statements made by Gurbulea and Zubic at a news conference as illegal was passed on April 6, 2009. The prosecutor appealed the decision, saying the statements were sheer information. The Supreme Court of Justice rejected the application as unfounded. The decision is irrevocable, Rahlea said.

The case in which Urechea nu and Plesca appear as suspects in the attempt on Iurie Rosca’s life has not yet been closed.

The Prosecutor General and the Deputy Minister of the Interior on January 15 said that somebody ordered the assassination of Iurie Rosca, but the killer changed up his mind and announced Rosca about this by phone. According to the two officials, the killer spoke over the phone with Serafim Urecheanu, Ion Plesca and the former director of the Security and Information Service Valeriu Pasat, who is in Moscow.

On January 16, the AMN MPs showed the journalists videos where police officers are seen placing proofs in the room where the alleged killer received a part of the money and the gun. In a week, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of the Interior denied the AMN’s assertions that the police fabricated evidence in the given case.
